These less specific <a href=\"https:\/\/help.marketingservices.dev\/?p=423\">Domain connection Instructions<\/a> might be more helpful if your <a href=\"https:\/\/help.marketingservices.dev\/?p=10\">DNS records<\/a> are not managed in GoDaddy. Follow these <a href=\"https:\/\/help.marketingservices.dev\/?p=404\">transfer domain instructions<\/a> if you are transfering your domain from a previous host.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Part 1: Editing your DNS settings on GoDaddy<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On GoDaddy, go to Domains &gt; All Domains<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select your domain name from the list to access the <\/span><b>Domain Settings<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> page<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scroll down to <\/span><b>Additional Settings<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and select <\/span><b>Manage DNS<br \/>\n<\/b><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-396 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/help.marketingservices.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/domains-manage-dns-godaddy-120718-300x188.png\" alt=\"Screenshot of the &quot;Additional Settings&quot; with &quot;Manage DNS&quot; circled.\" width=\"300\" height=\"188\" srcset=\"https:\/\/help.marketingservices.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/domains-manage-dns-godaddy-120718-300x188.png 300w, https:\/\/help.marketingservices.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/domains-manage-dns-godaddy-120718.png 350w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the <\/span><b>DNS Management<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> page, find the\u00a0<\/span><b>Records<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> section (shown below)<\/span><\/li>\n<li>For your bare domain (like &#8220;example.com&#8221;) which has a &#8220;<strong>Name&#8221;<\/strong> of <strong>&#8220;@&#8221;<\/strong>, create an &#8220;<strong>A<\/strong>&#8221; record and the value should be <b><i>104.154.100.138<\/i><\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For a subdomain (like &#8220;www.example.com&#8221;) which has a &#8220;<strong>Name<\/strong>&#8221; of &#8220;<strong>www<\/strong>&#8220;, create a &#8220;<strong>CNAME<\/strong>&#8221; record and the value should be\u00a0<\/span><b><i>host.websiteprohosting.com<\/i><\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click <\/span><b>Save<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to complete the process<\/span><\/li>\n<li>To encourage the DNS system on the internet to update quickly you can flush Google\u2019s DNS cache using their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/speed\/public-dns\/cache\">Google Public DNS Flush Cache<\/a>\u00a0tool.<\/li>\n<li>Allow up to 24 hours for all changes to take full effect. During this time your old host may still be serving your site\u2019s traffic. You can check on the status of your DNS Settings using tools like\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mxtoolbox.com\/DNSLookup.aspx\">MxToolbox DNS Lookup<\/a>\u00a0or viewing the<strong>\u00a0Domains<\/strong>\u00a0tab in\u00a0<strong>Website Pro.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Part 2: Configuring your Website Pro Site<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Log into Website Pro and navigate to the <b>Domains<\/b> tab<\/li>\n<li>Click <b>Connect a Domain<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Enter the domain name you purchased. Click <b>Add Domain.<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Your domain will show up in the table and it will be marked\u00a0<strong>p<\/strong><b>ending <\/b>while Website Pro gets ready to handle requests on that domain. This should take a minute.<\/li>\n<li>When it can handle requests on that domain it might appear\u00a0<strong>disconnected<\/strong>\u00a0because Website Pro cannot detect the correct DNS records yet. Once your DNS Records have completely propagated through the DNS system it should appear <strong>connected<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li>It is also normal for your SSL Certificate to be\u00a0<strong>pending<\/strong> at this point. It may take several minutes to obtain an SSL Certificate. If you can&#8217;t wait for the SSL Certificate you can expand\u00a0<strong>Advanced Settings<\/strong> and disable\u00a0<strong>Redirect to HTTPS<\/strong>\u00a0temporarily. <em>It is very important to re-enable this setting<\/em>\u00a0because serving traffic on\u00a0<strong>HTTPS<\/strong> is much safer and it improves your site&#8217;s ranking in Search Engines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<b>Make Primary<\/b>\u00a0on the domain that you want all your visitors to be redirected to.<\/li>\n<li>If you\u00a0disabled\u00a0<strong>Redirect to HTTPS<\/strong>\u00a0temporarily in step 5 you should check this\u00a0<strong>Domains<\/strong> tab frequently until the SSL Certificate is marked\u00a0<strong>secure<\/strong>.
